Salt Glow
A salt glow involves applying moist salt with friction to a person's skin. The friction causes vasodilation and increases circulation without increasing the temperature. The salt glow promotes healthy skin by increasing circulation to the skin, sloughing off dead skin cells and softening the skin.
Materials
1-2 pounds of epsom salt (you can also use common table salt or a coarser salt)
Water
Basin
Towel
Instructions
Moisten the salt by adding enough water to make the salt grain stick together but not as much that will make it dissolve
Wet the person's skin with water
Take both hands full of moistened salt and apply to the extremities first - starting with fingers and toes
After the extremities apply the salt rub to the chest, abdomen, back, hips and buttocks
After the treatment wash the salt off and dry thoroughly
Caution
Do not use on open wounds or if there is skin irritation
