Get To Know Me

  • They say death is certain. The only uncertain thing is when it will happen.

When I was 10 years old I had a death in my family every year for five years. Before I could fully mourn one person, another person died. I didn't really understand much then but I just felt like they all died too soon. I miss my grandmother the most and she died just before I was able to fulfil her dream of getting into the same high school as her.

As I got older and more interested in health, I became more curious about my relatives and what caused their deaths. I realized that they all died from complications of diabetes or cardiovascular disease. I wanted to make sure that I would have a different fate. I had to make sure that my life style and life story was different from theirs.
