Contrast Shower

A contrast shower refers to the use of hot and cold water as a therapeutic treatment. It has tremendous benefits.

  • It stimulates the immune system

  • Helps to relieve pain

  • Increases circulation

  • Relieves fatigue

  • Decreases muscle soreness

  • It is stimulating at first and then relaxing

 Instructions

  • After your shower, turn the water to as hot as you can take it for 3 minutes

  • Then as cold as you can take it for 30 seconds

  • Do 3 complete cycles

  • Make sure to end with cold

To ensure that you get the greatest benefit from a contrast shower there needs to be a large difference in the temperature of the hot and cold water.

Be sure to go to bed right after because you will definitely have sound sleep.

Caution

Speak to your doctor if you have open wounds, heart conditions or deep vein thrombosis before doing this therapy.
