Cabbage Poultice

A cabbage poultice is good for pain and inflammation that is present in arthritis, abscesses, boils and burns. It is also good for healing wounds and sores.

 

Materials

  • Cabbage

  • Rolling pin

  • Baking sheet

  • Plastic wrap

  • Elastic bandage

 

Instructions

  1. Take 1 or 2 washed and dried cabbage leaves making sure they are big enough to cover the intended area.

  2. Cut out the bottom part of the central rib

  3. Gently bruise the leaves with a rolling pin until it is moist

  4. Place the leaves on a cookie sheet in the oven at 200 degrees for 1-2 minutes or until warm to touch

  5. Apply the leaves to the area. Cover with plastic wrap first then with an elastic bandage

  6. Leave the poultice on for 6-8 hours or overnight
