I want to share a quick story with you.
In 2019 I found out that I was at risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes. I knew I had to make some serious changes to my life. This hit me hard because I had recently developed a love for baking and I thought I wouldn't be able to enjoy my new hobby anymore. I already had a family history of Diabetes and I did not want to continue this trend. The worse part was my doctor wasn't the one to tell me I was at high risk. I figured it out within a few months of attending Naturopathic medical school by comparing my blood work with what I was learning.
So I spent the next few months making dietary and lifestyle changes. I put myself on a strict diet and telling myself I would never eat sweets again. You can imagine how that backfired. That was an epic failure. But I was persistent to find a plan that worked. In a few short months I was finally able to figure out what worked and by 2021 my blood sugar had normalized and I was no longer at risk for Diabetes.
